Hulu is giving a US debut to UK series including property show A Place In the Sun, through a new deal with distributor Electric Sky.
UK factual entertainment series Fat Doctor and Customs also make their stateside premieres through the agreement, with Hulu adding a total 50 hours of Electric Sky content to its free and premium platforms.
Other shows included in the deal with the UK and Hong Kong-based distributor are Las Vegas: Secrets Revealed, Tales of the Living Dead and Max’s Big Tracks.
At the same time, Hulu is set to launch Pretty Tough, a teen drama from web series studio, Vuguru, on December 3.
The exclusive agreement, signed with Content Media, will see the show – about two soccer-playing sisters from Malibu – appear on both Hulu’s free and premium Hulu Plus platform.
The series is part of Vuguru’s slate alongside: Prom Queen: Homecoming, which was recently launched in the US on network The CW’s website; Nuclear Family, which debuted earlier this month on Syfy Digital; and Greetings from Home, which went live last month on AOL.
At Mipcom earlier this month, FremantleMedia Enterprises agreed a first-look deal for international rights to original programming from Vuguru. This brings to an end the latter’s previous two-year distribution agreement with Content Media.
