Critters Trilogy

The films capture the bizarre, undersea life of Indonesia’s Lembeh strait, host to the best muck diving on the planet. The three films focus individually on the weird daytime residents of this apparently barren featureless and rubbish strewn sea floor, the completely different creatures that emerge after dark, and the even more strangely evolved critters of the corals.

Blenie Pygmy Seahorse Nadibranch

AVAILABLE NOW

Diversity is the operative word here. Creatures with weird descriptive names that conjure up all sorts of strange images are common here. The ornate ghost pipefish, solar powered nudibranches, mimic octopuses and flamboyant cuttlefish, as well as the diminutive pygmy seahorse and the aptly named frogfish can all be seen hiding among the crevices of the Lembeh Strait. The creatures disguise themselves as leaves, grow algae on their bodies or create the most lavish camouflage costumes...and encounter the fastest mouth in the sea..

Showcasing marine animals that have never been seen before on television - creatures that you could not conjure up in your wildest imagination - and astonishing behaviour never previously witnessed, the films introduce a bizarre undersea world to an audience that will not believe what it is seeing!

The films are unlike any underwater films that you will ever have seen and have become legends in the diving world - as evidenced by the massive number of international awards they have accumulated - including the ultimate accolade of a double Palme d'Or at the Antibes World Underwater Film Festival, the first time in the 28 year history of the festival that two films by the same producer shared the coveted gold award.
